Tempest of Temptation
A plume of smoke rises, chased by the wind
A sure sign of what's to begin
It started so quickly, a hello, a spark
A tiny glimmer of hope in the dark
Where there was smoke, now there is fire,
I am yearning, burning with desire.
Just from the way you look at me,
I'm covered in burns, of the third degree.
This light, this flame, serious as a heart attack,
I'm quickly becoming a pyromaniac.
This heat, this need, such a sweet pain,
But in my head is a hurricane.
From the current of my curves to the shore of my soul,
See the lightning strike, hear the thunder roll.
I'm swept up in all thoughts of you,
Tossed about by feelings so new.
The cloudier it gets, the easier to see,
Just how much you mean to me.
There is no shelter from this storm,
Only this fire to keep me warm.
All of a sudden, there is peace in the eye,
I am soaring through the sky.
I have no fear, although I'm falling
This electric magic, this is our calling.
And once again comes more rain and wind,
Oh what a mess we are caught up in.
But like a phoenix rising from the dust,
I’ve found a new life, a new love, a new lust.
In all this chaos, one thing I've learned,
It feels so good to be burned.
And from destruction, comes creation,
You are my tempest of temptation.
